Welcome to the first Power of Three post. In these Power of Three segments, I will recommend three movies that have similar themes for your viewing pleasure.
Since it was recently Groundhog Day, time loop movies are on the brain. And since time loop movies were on the brain, what a perfect start to this new segment.
Now three movies that are great examples of time loop movies.
1. Happy Death Day(2017)
Happy Death Day stars Jessica Rothe as Tree Gelbman. Tree is a college student who has to relive her death over and over again until she finds a way to break the loop. This movie is super hilarious and made by Rothe’s performance. Currently, the movie is not on streaming service, but you can rent it from the usual places such as Prime Video, YouTube, Vudu, Apple TV, and Google Play TV & movies.
2. Edge of Tomorrow (2014)
Edge or Tomorrow stars Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt as two soldiers fighting alien invaders. When the two becom trapped in the time loop, they must use what they learn to beat the invaders. You can watch this on Max currently.
3. Retroactive (1997)
So Rectroactive is one of my favorite time loop movies and stars Kylie Travis and James Belushi. The movie centers around Karen (Travis ) a psychiatrist on a road trip through the desert. When her car breaks down, she gets a ride with Belushi’s character. Turns out that was the wrong decision as an incident caused Karen to flee for her life and run across a facility conducting time travel experiments. She used the technology to try to fix the outcome. The movie looks like it might be on YouTube.
Honorable Mention: Happy Death Day 2 U
So, I wanted to include this one because it is a continution of the first movie and almost better than the first one. The premise is still pretty much the same.
