It’s Thanksgiving time again. Time for turkey, stuffing, mayhem and little bit of horror. While traditionally Thanksgiving is not seen as “let throw on a horror movie” time, these flicks well definitely add a little bit spice to the holiday to counteract the food coma.

1. Flesh and Blood (2018)

Airing as part of the Into the Dark anthology series on Hulu, this movie is definitely a must watch for your Thankgiving holiday. The story centers around a young girl with agoraphobia who is trapped inside her home with the real danager. This was the second movie in the anthology series and stars Dermot Mulroney (Scream 6, My Best Friend’s Wedding) and Diana Silvers (Ma, Glass).

2. Pilgram (2019)

Pilgram is another movie from the Into the Dark anthology series on Hulu. In Pilgram, a woman invites pilgram re-enactors in her home so that family can get a taste of an authentic old-fashion Thanskgiving. However, everything is not what it appears to be. Think of Thanksgiving dinner with a Midsommar vibes. Pilgram stars Kerr Smith(Dawson’s Creek, Final Destination), Elyse Levesque (Stargate Universe, Ready or Not) and Reign Edwards (Hell Fest, MacGyver)

3. You’re Next

While You’re Next is not a Thanksgiving movie, you do get a family reuniting for a event. The family is gathered around the table for a meal when mayhem starts. One of the best home invasion movies, this definitely need to be on your Thanksgiving viewing list. You’re Next star Barbara Crampton (Re-Animator, Chopping Mall) and Sharni Vinson (Step Up 3D).

4. The Oath (2018)

The 2018 film The Oath centers around a family that is politically divide over issue set in alternate United States. The family has gotten together for turkey day but their political idealogies are brought to head in this dark comedy. Now, I will fully admit this leans more towards the dark comedy genre instead horror. But there is enough horrorify circumstance that leans its self to horror genre. This movie stars Tiffany Hadish (Girls Trip, Like a Boss) and Ike Barinholtz ( The Mindy Project).

5. Escape Room

Our last entry on the list is Escape Room. Six stranges brought together by invitation to an escape room, find themselves fighting for their lives when the gamestakes are life and death. This one is definitely a nail biter and will get the blood pumping. The psychological horror film stars Taylor Russell (Bones and All, Lost in Space (2018-2021) and Deborah Ann Woll (True Blood, Daredevil (2015-2018).
